day 24

Today we cycled 35 miles from Southport to St Annes. Today saadly we said goodbye to Loong after breakfast at MacDonald's as it was the closest place. We helped to pack up the tent and set off at 8:45 leaving loong to wander about the town. Our first stop was at a bike shop on the way which dad wanted to go to as his speedo wasn't working and wanted to put on his bell. So we stopped there and dad in the end had to buy a new speedo 30 quid buuuttt in the end after all that karfuffle dad put back the old battery in the old speedo and it worked! So we wasted a lot of time there but dad now want to put the old one on mine as he now has a knew one.

Our first stop was in Preston at the green frog roadside cafe there we had brunch and set off again it was only 14 miles and it past like a blur. We arrived at 13:40 ish at Joe's house and had a tea before he took us to the black pool tower. The whole of Blackpool seems like a new country I thought it almost seems foreign. The tower seems just like the Iefael tower and it's expensive I thought. Our main thing was the pleasure beach which we went in after five as it's a little bit cheaper. In side in really big the first place we went to was nickelodeon world where there were some really fun rides we went on including the highest rollercoaster in the UK but cutting to the chase we went on the rise called the mouse. It isn't anything like it's name it rickety, rocky, jercky and feels like your going to go over the edge. The reason we went last on it was because a long time ago my gran went on that ride and ended up on the floor of the car at the end off the ride. Any way, dad almost lost his glasses we were going down one section when the flew off his head! Luckily it was almost time to close for that ride so the men went under the tracks to get it for us, phew! Joe picked us outside at 7pm and took us for dinner and now we're having a nice adult conversation at his house which I'm not paying attention to.

  2. Very jealous of the Blackpool roller coaster. Thank you for hosting me- had a great time. It was particularly good to get to legitimately eat malt loaf.... xxx

  3. Went to the end of the pier and was the first one on it as it only opened at just before 10. I was then idle and thought "Southport must have a museum"- and it does... a lawnmower museum. There are over 200 lawnmowers from through the ages there and over 1000 in storage. It doubles as a repair shop with the man who owns it being the national (if not world-wide) expert on the matter. They let me in for free as I had no cash and even put on the video for me to watch. I was so caught up I had to race for my train. Well worth it. x

  4. Also, I got a flat tyre on my way back from Euston. Pancake flat. So two wheels became two legs.
