We cycled from Lyme Regis to Lulmouth today 55ish miles. So today was a REALLY tracky day we woke up at 7:15 and had a nice full English breakfast and left at quarter to nine. We cycled through charmouth and we also had a little bit of rain falling on us. Our first hill was stonebarrow lane and at the top was a national trust building I'm glad to say we didn't visit it. This is where we came across our first small track a sloping downhill which was rather rocky and bumpy that wasn't too long but we had to walk down it. Some wereached the bottom and cycled on to our first stop for scones and I had a small nap as dad went out for a phone call. We cycled onwards and then went down off the main road and hit the beach. We just had to walk as the pebbles were our path and we would've fallen over if we tried to cycle. After the pebbles was a dirt path still alongside the beach but somehow our brakes were absolutely caked with mud we actually had to stop a few time to clean it out and out bike aren't even fully clean right now! But we did get off most of the mud. We cycled around 20 miles to Weymouth and Portland. Dad made me take lots of pictures there and we had lunch in a cafe halfway across Portland beach. Next we had to climb back up Weymouth. And cycling across the harbour there was really nice but we were cycling out of Weymouth we had a strange encounter.

A man was just lying on the side of the road we went across to I'm and asked if he was OK he said no. Apparently he was simply to tired to continue walking and there was something about medication blah blah. We called the ambulance after giving him a drink and bit of bread ans he was really weak. The ambulance came after about 15 minutes it was quite an exciting experience. We kept cycling for 30 mins and were going nicely but we doubled back once as Google tried to take us on a track but we continued on the main road. We made a good distance and we turned off the main road about 9 miles from our destination. It took us through a village winfrith with apparently the best shop in Dorset which we didn't bother visiting. It took us on a side road which turned eventually into a farm and before we knew it we were on another track! This went on for a mile Google tried to make us walk through bushes but we stayed on the horrible track we had to walk for a while. After this the track turned to the fields! This wasn't as bad as it was softer for us and cycle able. We were put in a sort of undergrowth of trees on a track in between fields and we reached the gate at the end of this bit. But that turned onto an open field! Google still thought this was a cycleble route even though there was literally no visible path on this field. We reached another gate which took us onto another bloody pebble track which f*cking ticked us off even more. At the top of this rise it went down and it was steep!!!! We had to walk again but after half a mile of this we FINALLY reached a road. A two mile cycle on actually civilised road and we reached our destination. We had no planned booking but where we stopped was a pub and they had vacancies so we were really happy. We've just eaten and are staying in for the rest of the evening. I've been told we only have to do 40 miles tommorow and only 600 feet of climbing๐Ÿ˜€. Bye.
