Rainy day 29

Today we cycled 30 miles from Wetheral to Kirkcudbright. We woke up at 6:30 and as we were leaving after breakfast Ileen too a photo of us leaving also about the tooth fairy I got five pounds! that's the most I thing anyone I has got I expect it's because I'm on this trip. Any way as it was raining, yay, we cycled to the train station and got to tae the train to Dumfries unfortunately dad told me that it would be raining for the rest of the week and for most of Scotland there won't be a train on our route [uh oh]. So as the train took us 40 miles and we only had 30miles to cycle so we cycled on following the national cycle route seven and it surprised us as it seemed the only national cycle route without taking us on a bad track that was good. We had cycled 19 miles before we rested I was mucky and soaked from the rain so we stopped at the cafe called the mad hatter in Castle Douglas. I had a sandwich with lots of stuff in and dad had a breakfast roll before we got outside it was only raining very lightly now but as my gloves and buff were uncomfortable I decided to swap to fingered gloves and a new buff. We set off and eventually the rain began to get really heavy and belting down it hurt when it hit us and we had to just cycle on. We came to Threave house and gardens and cycled a bit to the near entrance and this is really a story dad should tell so ill make him do that later but the main bit is really we're about to par our bikes under a shelter as it's raining but a man comes out and says we can par them in some proper bike place with loops to lock up to dad asks if it's under shelter, the man called Neill says no so we as if we can lock them up under the shelter in now ones way the man says no so dad gets angry and we leave and thats pretty much it.

After that episode we continue with the horrible rain and finally come to Kirkcudbright there we find Kenny's house and as he isn't in yet from his work we're early at 1:00 so we change all our clothes to casual clothes with a towel. We went walking around town he before calls us to meet at the square we meet there and go to have lunch at a nice nearby cafe. We had a nice meal there then go to his house to sort stuff by now dad's phone is acting funny and not working at all now but dad has my phone which we can use so if we get some rice we're hoping to get rid of probably water in the phone or fix it somehow. So now Kenny has left to do a little baby sitting for a six year old and we'll see him tomorrow but thats it for our proper rainy day.
