going home (only a short trip) yesterday's blog
Today we cycled 55 miles from Tarbert to Loch awe. We set off at 9 not a bad start and cycled till we came to canal were dad took pictures of the canal as was our first one we saw with a lock surprisingly. We cycled a bit along the canal and saw a lock with a push away bridge so you could let tall boats through it just slid into the side of the canal wall quite clever. We came off the canal and went to the town centre of Loch Gliphead there it took a while to find a cafe we had to ask someone one for where to go. We came to cafe thirty five there we used what little coins dad had left for an oringina and cappachino. We cycled on to Loch awe and it started to rain so we were nearing Furnace and needed a place to get out of the rain and we saw a small village shop and basically waited there for shelter and the rain to pass. On the road after the rain we got to Inveraray after 11 miles from the villageshop. At Inveraray we found a restaurant and had an interview with a man there on his 79 birthday so that was nice then I had lunch of chicken curry. Then we came to a junction and dad had to check for directions and said we could come off the main road for a mile thankfully. It wasnt as we expected we were yet again annoyed by google. This time we ended up finding a route behind a garage and going through a bog. We got to the end of that and on to the main road again and there in saw a hedge hjog near the side of the road. So I picked it up and put it into the grass and we continued normally. Loch awe was nice and we managed to get to Pam's place there dad went to get tickets for the overnight train to london as Ling is having her baby! So we had dinner with Pam and as I have to rush I'll say we're on the sleeper train and arrive in Euston at half 7ish.

Apparently bog snorkiling is an aquired art and practised widely in Yorkshire-perhaps Google has lead you well and truly up the garden path!
ReplyDeleteSounds as if you have a good deviation planned going back to London or are you cutting corners?!
Hope all goes well with the pending arrival of "Bling"-expect dramatic blogs shortly!
