day 43
Today we cycled 69 miles so basically 70 from Durness to Thurso. We had continental breakfast of just bread and cereal and set off at 6:45 it was raining heavily but there was nothing we could do. Also another thing I didn't mention is that my gran passed away although she had her mind till the end which is I suppose the main thing she died this morning sadly. Oh well we continued and the rain stopped and the wind was behind us. It came back twice but the wind always stayed with us till we got to a village at 11 ish we found a hotel for breakfast but they said they didn't serve food! We managed to get a sausage sandwich in the end as the manager saw my age and we got hot chocolate with marshmallows. After that we knew the wind would be against us but it wasnt that bad anyway. We got soon to another village it didn't feel far at all from the last place but apparently it was 17 miles. Dad wanted lunch at a pub but I found an inn that was better. There we had a nice lunch but dad called it school dinner meal. We had a nice time there with just over 11 miles to go we were happy and my stuff stemmed dryer again. That didn't last long and soon rain came to wet us again unfortunately, although it wasn't that long. Soon again we were in Thurso and found Fiona's house without to much trouble. We had a shower and I was tired so dad went shopping a bit at Lidl's we had a nice dinner then another person staying at Fiona's house called Tinna turned up after a day out and now sitting in the living room, one of daughters has come back from a birthday party and there all talking in the kitchen now.
