Day 2 part 2. 2 castles 1 fortress and 1 island (not that order)

So dad didn't finish yesterday but the short version goes... We cycled along various coastal paths our only hill that was considered a proper hill was just after a ford so we had to slow right down which was annoying but it wasn't to tough in the end just steep then long. We stopped briefly in a little village for a sausage roll and pie then cycled to The Ord house country park where we stayed in a "Pod" which was very comfortable we met Mum there who came by car.

So this morning Dad and Mum woke up at 7 and I woke up at 7:30 recycled off the ferret to see the walls that and The Lowry paintings and went across a stupid old Bridge which apparently King James built dad says I need to tell people that I am using voice recognition to write this, which is really fun. Next week headed to the Holy Island and Lindis  the only thing in it where a Parish Church and monastery. We met Mum at Holy Island for breakfast again in the post office. We crossed back over a cause way to get back to the mainland beat the tide and Tessie had 15 minutes to do it in the car. Our next destination was Bamburgh Castle spelt Bamburgh but we didn't go inside as we had lots of places to visit we met mum in the little village outside and had lunch there.

Our last Castle was Alnwick  apparently they used it in some of the Harry Potter shots as Hogwarts Castle. We just around inside for 5 minutes and met mum there as well. Are airbnb is at new Biggin at sea we had fish and chips for dinner and should be leaving early in the morning as it is forecast to rain in the afternoon.

  1. ...and somewhere just north of Alnwick you will have passed RAF Boulmer - HQ of the UK Air Defence system. Not a lot of people know that!
